We Have Windows

All through 2021, home builders and remodelers have faced widespread delays or backorders of materials for home projects. Contractors big and small have experienced extended lead times from suppliers, The Window Source of Western MI included.

Before covid, when we ordered windows, they would arrive in 10 days. That is not the case in 2021 heading into 2022. Window manufacturers have been some of the most affected by delays. This is due, in part, to the shortages in glass and vinyl. Additionally, window suppliers are experiencing record-level customer demand and labor shortages. Interruptions in their suppliers, coupled with heightened demand, is putting a big strain in the assembly and production of windows.

As of early fall 2021, lead times for window products is about 16 weeks, give or take. Double hung windows, the most popular style, are taking the longest. Some window styles are less. If you wanted painted colors, there could be further delay. Our supplier is showing signs of getting back to normal. It will take a few more months to confirm things are trending towards normal.

Taking all of this into consideration, plan ahead with your window replacement project. The days of getting windows in two weeks are in the rearview mirror. We, at The Window Source, will do everything we can to complete your window replacement project as fast as possible.

The Window Source of Western Michigan sells and installs vinyl replacement windows in Traverse City, Kingsley, Arcadia and all of northwest lower Michigan.
